SPECTRUM PERCUSSION - Screening of “Man with a Movie Camera” with live percussion accompaniment

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29th @ TIFF Bell Lightbox - Cinema 2

Jonny will be performing once again with Spectrum Percussion for a screening on the silent film “A Man with a Movie Camera” (1929). Spectrum will be providing music for the film which lasts about an hour. This Soviet-era film by Dziga Vertov is well suited to percussion accompaniment because of its focus on the fast-paced and industrial aspects of urban life in the first half of the 20th Century. The interaction between humans and the machinery of modern life depicted in the film will be amplified by a resounding chorus of percussion sounds and rhythms. More information on this event will be available soon through the TIFF website under Year-Round programming.
